Bulk Trash rules? Here they are! They will
NOT pick up the following...
- More than 20 cubic yards per residence, which is about the
a pile the size of an SUV.
- Loose debris, litter, grass, leaves, weeds, twigs, and
hedge clippings. These should be bagged or boxed and securely tied to
be collected.
- Household hazardous waste (now called HHW) such as
antifreeze, pool chemicals, batteries, oil, and paint. Check out the
website noted below for more info for proper disposal of these.
- Community piles (whatever they are).
- Materials such as bricks, concrete, dirt, rocks, asphalt,
and roofing shingles/tiles.
- Construction materials in excess of 25 pounds or over 4
feet long generated by a residence.
- Any construction material generated by a contractor (in
other words, any contractor you hire should be hauling the waste off
themselves and not 'taking advantage' of the bulk trash thing)
- Metal or car parts in excess of 20 lbs. or over 4 feet
long.
- Any type of size of tire.
- Glass such as windows, shower doors, patio doors, mirrors,
fluorescent tubes, etc.
- Appliances that use refrigerants such as freezers,
refrigerators and air conditioners.
- Unwanted guests that have overstayed their welcome (just
kidding...otherwise we may see you on CSI!)
For those of you who don't know already, leaving out
anything of any value that fits in the top 11 above that is NOT garden/debris
related will most likely be picked up by 'people driving by', and heck, why
not...recycling works!!
Please sweep up after bulk pickup if necessary!!!
